Collection: 60x120 porcelain tiles

The effects available

Five effects are available in this size, and that is why 60x120 is also the most requested: whatever aesthetic direction you have in mind, it exists here. Concrete is the largest group, followed by stone, then marble and metal: four different registers on one size.

Alongside the neutrals the size carries two more particular presences. The decorative surfaces — geometrics, patchwork, floral patterns — find in 60x120 exactly the right proportions for a wall. And within the concrete effect a few accent tones appear, for anyone after a note of colour rather than a neutral ground.

The same size on floors and walls

Among the large sizes, 60x120 is the one that takes both uses without compromise. On the floor it gives a continuous surface with few grout lines; on the wall it covers the height with few pieces and adapts to surfaces that are not enormous, where a large square would look out of proportion.

The practical consequence is that the same reference can sit on both surfaces: in the bathroom it is the most frequent solution for coordinating floor and wall on the same tone, and in the kitchen it allows the floor to carry on behind the worktop. It is a possibility that 30x60 and 120x120, each for opposite reasons, do not offer in the same way.

Direction and offset

A rectangle, unlike a square, has to be oriented, and the decision changes how the room is perceived: the long side running the longer way stretches the perspective, laid across it widens. It is the extra variable 60x120 brings with it, and it is worth settling before laying rather than on site.

The effect chosen weighs heavily on the offset. On the more even surfaces the offset joint almost disappears and the surface reads as continuous; on those with more marked grain and veining the offset becomes visible and needs setting out with care, because it breaks the pattern recognisably. If you want the most absolute continuity, with no direction and no offset, the 120x120 size is the next step. Laying directions, waste and setting-out patterns are covered in the guide to the 60x120 size.

Frequently asked questions

Which effects are available in 60x120?

Five: concrete, stone, marble, decorative and metal. Concrete and stone are the largest groups.

Can it be used on floors and on walls?

Yes, and it is one of the reasons it is the most chosen size. The same reference is laid on both surfaces, so floor and wall can be coordinated on the same tone without changing module.

How should it be oriented?

It depends on the shape of the room. The long side laid the longer way stretches the perspective; set across, it widens a narrow room. In square rooms the choice is free and depends on where you enter from.
